At a glance
- HonyCars is a system for dealerships. Each dealership controls its customers' data; we process it on the dealership's behalf.
- We do not sell personal data or use it for advertising.
- If you message a dealership that uses HonyCars on WhatsApp, an automated assistant supported by artificial intelligence may reply. You can always ask to speak with a person.
- You can request access to, correction of, or deletion of your data. Here's how.
01Who we are
HonyCars is sales management software for car dealerships. It brings together inquiries from WhatsApp and other channels, distributes them among salespeople, and records each customer's follow-up.
The data controller is Ignacio Aristegui, tax ID (CUIT) 20462642610, located at Garay 1468, San Bernardo, Argentina.
This policy explains what personal data we process, why, who we share it with, and how to exercise your rights under Argentina's Personal Data Protection Law No. 25,326 and its supplementary regulations.
02Who this policy applies to
This depends on your relationship with HonyCars:
- You left your details on this website
- HonyCars is the controller of that data.
- You work at a dealership that uses HonyCars
- HonyCars is the controller of your user account data. Your dealership decides who has access and which permissions they have.
- You are a customer of a dealership that uses HonyCars
- The dealership is the controller of your data. HonyCars processes it on the dealership's behalf as a computerized service provider under Article 25 of Law No. 25,326. We use it solely to provide the service, not for other purposes, and do not transfer it to third parties.
03Data we process
If you contact us through this website
Your name, dealership name, phone, email, number of salespeople and branches, current sources of inquiries, and your message. We receive these details by email; the website does not store them in a database. If you select WhatsApp, the conversation continues there.
If you book a demo
We store your name, dealership, email, phone, and selected time to arrange the meeting. We share these details with Google Calendar to create the event and send an invitation; Google Meet supports the video call. We keep a booking record in our administration system. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that a person is submitting the request. The public schedule shows only available times, never details of other calendar events.
If you request the 7-day trial
Your name, dealership name, email, phone, and number of salespeople. We use these to create your trial account, send your sign-in link, and call you during the trial. The form uses Cloudflare Turnstile to verify that the request comes from a person by analyzing technical browser signals and your IP address.
On /probar and /en/try, we record steps, control clicks, started fields, and errors to identify signup difficulties. We do not store field contents before submission. When you submit, we link this journey to the request details and invitation status. We do not record your screen or keystrokes. We also store the approximate location of your visit—country, region, and city—which our hosting provider derives from your IP address. We do not store the IP address. We record how you reached the website: the ad or campaign in your link, the referring domain, and whether you used a phone or computer. Your browser stores a random number that does not identify you to avoid counting return visits twice.
If you use the application
- Name, email, phone, optional profile photo, role, and branch.
- Your password, stored only as an Argon2 hash. It cannot be read, including by us.
- Login and change records, including date, IP address, and browser.
- Browser or phone notification subscriptions you enable, and your preferences.
- For the dealership as our customer: plan, invoices, payments, and uploaded receipts.
If you are a dealership's customer
- Name, phone, and email, plus identification document, city, and notes if entered by the dealership.
- Your inquiry: the vehicle you want, your stated budget, any trade-in, and the source—WhatsApp, a web form, manual entry, or an imported spreadsheet.
- Your WhatsApp conversations with the dealership: texts, selected buttons, and voice-note transcripts. For photos, audio, and documents you send, we store only WhatsApp's reference, not the file itself. When a dealership connects a number previously used on its phone, WhatsApp also provides the preceding six months of conversations, stored in the same way.
- Sales follow-up: your assigned salesperson, recorded calls and tasks, quotes sent to you, and any completed sale.
04How we use it
- To answer inquiries submitted through this website.
- To provide each dealership's service: receive and answer inquiries, assign them to a salesperson, send notifications, prepare quotes, and display reports.
- To administer user accounts, security, and records of who did what.
- To bill dealerships and collect payment for the service.
- To provide technical support and configure integrations. We access a dealership's data only as necessary for these purposes.
- To measure service usage by dealership in quantities—messages, assistant replies, and consumption—to operate and size the service.
We do not use data for advertising, sell it, or use it to train artificial intelligence models.
05The WhatsApp assistant
Dealerships can enable Hony, an assistant that automatically answers WhatsApp messages on the schedule the dealership chooses.
- It replies using information entered by the dealership: inventory, prices, hours, and commercial terms.
- To draft some replies, it sends an artificial intelligence provider recent conversation text and the inquiry details needed to answer you. Voice notes are sent to the provider for transcription.
- Before sending, the system rejects a reply if it contains data not present in the dealership's information. Replies are saved so the dealership can review them.
- It does not make decisions for you or the dealership: it does not approve credit, close sales, or set terms.
- You can ask to speak with a person at any time. The assistant stops replying to that conversation and notifies a salesperson.
Under their API terms, the artificial intelligence providers we contract do not use this data to train their models.
06Who we share data with
We do not sell or rent personal data. One dealership's data is not visible to any other. We share data only with providers necessary for the service, acting on our behalf under confidentiality and security obligations:
- Meta Platforms (WhatsApp Business Platform)
- Sending and receiving dealerships' WhatsApp messages.
- Proveedores de inteligencia artificial (Anthropic u OpenAI)
- Drafting assistant replies and transcribing voice notes.
- Cloud infrastructure providers
- Hosting the application, database, and backups.
- Email providers
- Invitations, password recovery, notifications, and website inquiries.
- Browser and phone notification services
- Delivering notifications to users who enable them—Google, Apple, or Mozilla, depending on the device.
- Cloudflare (Turnstile)
- Verifying that trial requests and demo bookings come from a person.
- Google Calendar and Google Meet
- Arranging demos, calendar invitations, and video calls.
- Mercado Pago
- Collecting dealerships' subscription payments. HonyCars does not store card details.
- Mercado Libre
- Only if the dealership connects its account, to manage its vehicle listings.
We may also disclose data to judicial or administrative authorities when required by law or an order.
07International transfers
Several providers process data on servers outside Argentina, primarily in the United States. In those cases, we work with providers committed to protecting data through appropriate security and confidentiality measures under Article 12 of Law No. 25,326 and its supplementary regulations.
08How long we keep data
- Website inquiries: for the time needed to respond and, if the dealership becomes a customer, for the duration of the relationship.
- Trial accounts: if the 7-day trial does not lead to a contract, the account and its data are deleted 30 days after expiry. If you never use the email link, they are deleted after 3 days.
- Trial signup journeys: deleted during the daily cleanup once 30 days have passed since the visit began.
- User accounts: while active. When a dealership removes a user, the account is deactivated and activity records are retained as part of the dealership's history of who attended each customer.
- Dealership customer data: for the duration of the dealership's contract. When it ends, the dealership can request an export, after which we delete the data unless it authorizes retention in writing for up to two years under Article 25 of Law No. 25,326, or a legal requirement obliges us to retain it.
- Billing: for the periods required by tax and commercial rules.
- Backups: renewed every 14 days, so deleted data disappears from backups within that period.
09How we protect it
- All connections are encrypted using HTTPS.
- Each dealership is isolated in the database through two independent controls.
- Passwords are stored as Argon2 hashes, and integration credentials are encrypted.
- Users see only the information permitted by their role.
- Logins and important changes are recorded.
- We make regular database backups.
No system is invulnerable. If we detect an incident affecting personal data, we notify the affected dealerships and act as required by applicable regulations.
10Your rights
You have the right to:
- Access your data free of charge at intervals of at least six months, unless you demonstrate a legitimate interest. We respond within 10 calendar days.
- Correct, update, or delete it. We respond within 5 business days.
- Withdraw consent when processing is based on that consent.
Deletion does not apply where it could harm third parties' legitimate rights or interests, or where there is a legal obligation to retain the data.
If you are a dealership's customer, you can contact the dealership or us. If you contact us, we forward the request and help ensure a response within those periods.
Argentina's AGENCY FOR ACCESS TO PUBLIC INFORMATION, as the supervisory authority for Law No. 25,326, is empowered to address complaints and claims by people whose rights are affected by noncompliance with current personal data protection rules. argentina.gob.ar/aaip
11How to request deletion
- Write to us using one of our contact channels with the subject “Data deletion”.
- Include your name, the phone or email on record, and, if you are a dealership's customer, its name.
- We verify that the request is yours and may ask for information to confirm it.
- Within 5 business days, we delete or anonymize your data, or explain why some must be retained—for example, an invoice.
Messages on your phone and WhatsApp's servers are governed by WhatsApp's privacy policy. You can also ask a dealership directly to stop messaging you or block its WhatsApp number.
13Children and minors
HonyCars is a business service and is not intended for people under 18.
14Changes to this policy
If this policy changes, we publish the new version here with its date. We notify dealerships of important changes by email or within the application before they take effect.
